However, to ensure that your vinyl film looks great for years to come, it’s essential to know how to clean and maintain it properly. How to clean vinyl films

Dust Regularly

The first step to keeping your film clean is to dust it regularly. Use a soft-bristled brush or a microfiber cloth to gently remove any surface dirt or debris. Avoid using abrasive or harsh materials, as they can scratch the vinyl film’s surface. This advice is most suitable for smooth matte or glossy films such as SMT07 or CP202. Texture patterns such as SPW43 hide the visibility of dust well. But we recommend cleaning at least for your health.

Clean with Mild Soap and Water

If your vinyl film has become stained or dirty, clean it with a mild soap and water solution. Mix a few drops of dish soap with warm water and gently clean the vinyl film using a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, bleach, or ammonia-based products, as they can damage the vinyl film.

Use All-purpose Cleaner

Sometimes there are situations when the film could be spoiled with very strong chemicals, such as a marker or paint. We recommend using All-purpose Cleaners as soon as possible to remove the substances before they are completely dry. It is also worth considering that many patterns are textured, so it could be harder to clean them. Be careful with All Cleaning Solutions, because some of them may change the tone of the film.

How to Maintain Vinyl Films

Avoid Direct Heat

You can use Bodaq films on cabinets, counters, and backsplashes either in your kitchen or bathroom. You can even put a hot cup of tea on the film without damaging it. But it’s important to avoid exposing it to direct heat sources like radiators, heating vents, or stovetops. Prolonged exposure to heat can cause the vinyl film to warp and bubble.

Don’t Cut on the Film

If you have vinyl film installed on your countertops avoid cutting directly on the film. Use a cutting board to protect the vinyl film from scratches or cuts. The interior vinyl films are durable, but as with many other finishing materials like granite or marble, they can be damaged by sharp objects like knives or scissors.
